Meet Our Team

Tory is a Physical Therapist and an Athletic Trainer who founded Matrix Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy, Inc. in June, 2006 fulfilling her dream of opening a sports medicine facility that provides patients with the individualized, one-on-one care that they deserve. In 2015 she added on a 4500 square foot training expansion to complete the state of the art facility you see today.
She has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 1999 and a licensed Physical Therapist since 2002. Her resume includes employment as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Rhode Island working with the Women’s Soccer team, Athletic Trainer with Lead The Way Field Hockey Association, Pediatric Physical Therapist at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, as well as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at several outpatient clinics throughout the state of Rhode Island. She is FMS, Y-Balance Test & OnBaseU Certified.
As a former competitive athlete with a passion for functional and sport specific rehab, she particularly enjoys working with athletes of all sports, ages & abilities in the areas of prehab, rehab, functional training, and performance enhancement. Tory’s diverse clinical skills include functional mobility evaluation and assessment, biomechanical evaluation, soft tissue and joint mobilizations, exercise program development to address strength and flexibility deficits, core strength program development, athlete performance enhancement, pediatric physical therapy, and athletic taping for sport specific injuries. ​She takes pride in her individualized treatment philosophy and the extensive word of mouth referral system that she has created with her drive and compassion for helping people.

Kara Kirby
Kara has been with Matrix Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy since September, 2018. She is Matrix's first impression and she never disappoints! Her friendly and charismatic personality will make you feel comfortable from your very first phone call!
Kara has extensive knowledge regarding insurance and is responsible for checking benefits, obtaining referrals and getting prior authorization for treatment.

Ron Minear, PT, DPT
Ron is a Physical Therapist who attended the University of Rhode Island as part of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and graduated in 2023. He has experience working at outpatient orthopedic clinics in New York and Rhode Island and has treated patients with a variety of injuries, along with post operative rehab. He particularly enjoys working with athletes of all ages and sports, guiding them through a personalized rehabilitation and return to sport program consisting of therapeutic exercise and targeted manual therapy techniques. He has prior athletic experience as a high school ice hockey player, along with being a high school and collegiate club level baseball player. He continues to play hockey recreationally and enjoys golfing. Ronald takes pride in providing high quality care and assisting patients in their pursuit of better quality of life through functional mobility.

Zack Kerrigan, Student- Intern Athletic Trainer
Zack has been part of the Matrix family since he was a young child, beginning as a patient and now contributing as an Athletic Training student out of Bridgewater State University. A former high school and collegiate football player, Zack has a deep understanding of the dedication and resilience required to excel in sports. He enjoys working with athletes of all ages and skill levels to help them refine their technique, enhance their speed, and reduce the risk of injury.
With hands-on experience in both playing and coaching, Zack is passionate about using evidence-based strategies to empower athletes to achieve their goals. His focus on movement analysis, injury prevention, and performance optimization reflects his commitment to supporting others in reaching their full potential.
Outside of work, Zack continues to stay connected to the sports community, mentoring youth athletes and sharing his love for the game.
